Field Technician / Installers
Part-time and Full-time Positions
Further-Reach, Mendocino’s south coast primary High Speed Internet Service Provider, is looking for field technicians.
Technicians are the face of the company, and interact directly with customers. They install, test, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade equipment that provides Internet service to residential and business customers. The work performed must follow safety guidelines as well as pre-approved installation, testing, repair and upgrade processes.
Further-Reach is seeking applicants with good organizational, communication and technical skills.
We are looking for people who:
Have a history of providing outstanding customer service.
Desire to learn new skills.
Savvy computer users.
Are able to lift 50 lbs and climb 30 foot ladders.
Are able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
Have a valid driver's license.
Pass background, drug test and MVR (driving record) pre-employment.
Live within 45 minutes drive of Point Arena.
Optional experience in - cable-TV, satellite, electrical, telephone, residential wiring, home theater or home security installations.
Applicants need to be comfortable with the following:
Prepare for system installations by reviewing orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools.
Coordination of customer visits.
Resolve concerns and answer questions by listening to customer's explanation of problems, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing problem.
Plan installations by evaluating location; locating access; laying-out equipment and wiring plan.
Deliver quality service to our subscribers and ensure products and services are explained clearly.
Test equipment and connections, identify and correct problems.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
Maintain a clean work environment, this applies to all areas of work, office, vehicles and customer premises.
Occasional travel may be required.
Optional experience: IP-networking/routing, Linux, wiring, antennas, satellite, telecom, DSL, Cable-TV, security alarm, home theatre, electrical, TV, Internet, telecommunication, solar power, backup batteries, charge controllers, electronic, hand tools, power tools, ladder, OSHA, construction, former military, familiarity with Ubiquiti and Mikrotik networking gear.
